NO TOBACCO PRODUCTS FOR THOSE BORN AFTER 2008 - EXPECTED ENACTMENT 2022: NEW ZEALAND

 



The country’s health minister Dr. Ayesha Verall made an announcement that those who are born after 2008, will not be able to buy tobacco products. This New legislation is generally aimed at increasing legal smoking age every year , to create a smoke free generation of New Zealanders. 

Moreover along with this , government has also announced certain measures such as, reducing legal amount of nicotine in Tobacco products to very low level, cutting down legally sellable points of cigarettes. This measure aims at making New Zealand a smoke free nation within next four years by making it unaffordable and inaccessible.
